4 YEAR OLD LEELA B. RELEASES MUSIC TRACK FOR DOLPHIN DAY
FOUR YEAR OLD LEELA B. RELEASES NEW SLAM STEP TRACK FOR DOLPHIN DAY 2012
The Dolphin Song ft. Leela B and We Am Legend
Four year old Leela, the daughter of Lucy Byrne, director of Earthrace UK, has been so upset by the thought of the thousands of dolphins and whales that are kept in captivity or are killed for meat in places like Taiji, Japan, that she has written a song especially for her mum's organisation. It's being released as a free download to help publicise Japan Dolphin Day 2012 (31 August). Rallies and protests are taking place in over 88 towns and cities around the world, including Leela's home city, London, to mark the resumption of the dolphin drives in places like Taiji, Japan.

The Dolphin Song ft. Leela B has been co-written by We Am Legend creator and musician, Tim Hawkins (keeping it in the family, Tim is Leela's uncle).
Dolphin drives are carried out by fishermen in small boats using loud noise to disrupt dolphins' sonar systems so that entire pods are panicked into nets and corrals. They are then either slaughtered for meat or sold on to marine parks and aquariums to live the rest of their lives in captivity.
Leela's mother Lucy, who is helping to organise the London event, said, "This is not 'us' against the Japanese people. It is thousands of individuals and hundreds of concerned groups putting a collective pressure on those Japanese Government officials and other individuals who have the power to stop the dolphin drives. We need them to understand that what happens in Taiji is not acceptable behaviour for intelligent human beings to condone. If my four year old daughter can understand that, it seems extraordinary that others who are much older than her, can't."
